Cornwall-based Flock Follies was one of the finalists in the 2011 Ignite Business Plan competition, organised by Oxford Innovation. Jayne Tarasun, Flock Follies: Flock Follies make bird feeders for little birds and they've been designed especially for little birds to stop them being bullied at lunchtime. A lot of people have a bird table and all the big birds come along and they take what they want and they clear out all the little birds and the little ones come in and eat what's left. I think it's really important to look after the little guys! I started making them by hand on my kitchen table and started selling them last May to the public. They're going to be in a show garden at Chelsea. The RHS have put a big order in and Lakeland have asked for a sample as well. I'm going to New York in August to check out the trade fair there, Scandinavia as well has had a lot of interest and Australia. It's very exciting, I mean I'd never have thought that something I started on my kitchen table would get to here in a year. Everyone's crazy about feeding little birds, it's fantastic!
