Colin is a 4 year old, 16.3hh, dark bay Thoroughbred Gelding. Colin is a lightly raced boy who has begun his retraining off the track. He has three lovely gaits, with a 12 inch over stride at the walk, a HUGE, powerful trot, and an athletic canter. Colin is very easy to handle, both on the ground and under saddle. It is evident that he lucked out in his track life, and had handlers and riders that treated him well. He has started over low fences and has the right attitude to pursue any discipline with great success- hunters, jumpers, eventing, or dressage. He will be free jumped at the end of this week to determine his scope. He enjoys riding around the farm, down the roads, and in the neighboring fields, and isn't bothered by much. Colin will work on a loose rein at all three gaits, but doesn't resist contact either and travels in a nice frame when asked. Because he is green in his re-education, he is best suited to a strong intermediate rider or better at this time. Colin is well made and correct and stands a full 16.3hh. His legs are cold, clean and tight and he should clear any pre-purchase exam with flying colors. Colin is at a healthy weight and is Up-To-Date on coggins, vaccinations, teeth, farrier work, etc. and recently saw the chiropractor. He has terrific feet that are hard, sizeable, and well shaped. He is currently doing fine barefoot. Colin has a very business-like personality, but he just learned about carrots, so I have a feeling it won't be long before he completely comes out of his shell. He has been introduced to turnout an does well in a herd of geldings; doesn't bother the mares over the fence. He is playful with the boys, but is smart enough to know when to back off. Colin has no vices. Don't let the plain bay wrapper fool you, this guy has presence and athleticism to make up for it! Additional photos and videos are available upon request. Priced to move at $2,000 for a limited time only. Located near Columbus, Ohio.
