In today's Mac Monday video I give a brief overview of Apple iWork and Microsoft Office. iWork consists of Pages, Numbers and Keynote and can be bought as a hard copy for £72/$79 or you can buy the Apps seperately from the Mac App Store for £13.99/$19.99 each. The iWork Apps are also available for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Office 2011 is available in a Home and Student version for around £80/$100 and this will include Word, Excel and Powerpoint. There is also a 3 user licence for a slightly higher price. If you want Outlook as well then you will have to purchase the Home and Business version. Feb 7, 2012 - iWorks is my favorite. I did buy Microsoft Office for my wife, but we never use it. As soon as she started using iWorks she never went back to Office! :-) It's mind blowing what can be done with iWorks! Very nice video, TJ. I do hope you do find time to demo how powerful Apple's iWorks can be with just a bit of practice. Thumbs Up! Thank you. Tim 

Feb 8, 2012 - Please forgive me if I've asked for this already, but I could really use a general Mac iTunes tutorial from you discussing most if not all its features. Especially those features that are not so obvious to the average user. Perhaps also discuss how it "plays" into iOS devices.

May 5, 2012 - Or there's LibreOffice also available for Mac and I believe that Abiword has a port as well if all you want is basic word processing.

May 23, 2012 - if i have a college presentation and i have an xp laptop. Can I move my iwork files to my xp and give my presentation?

MacAdvisorUK Says:

May 24, 2012 - Sure, you may need to save them in Office format first otherwise you won't be able to open iWork specific documents on a Windows PC.
